A part of my new article published in the NRC newspaper :
Today, Afghanistan is a mass grave for its daughters and women. For three years now, Afghan girls have been denied all basic rights. Education, work, and social participation have become unattainable dreams. In a world of apathy, they lose hope with each passing day.
A poem by Forough Farrokhzad echoes in my mind, and I ask myself again: At what cost has the world abandoned the people of Afghanistan, especially its women and girls, to such inhumane and unjust conditions? Is it true, as Farrokhzad wrote, that this is all the world has left for us?

My share is
A sky where hanging a curtain takes it away from me
The descent down an abandoned stairway
To something rotting and desolate.
